Arsenal attacker Alexis Sanchez is in the midst of statistically his best season in the Premier League after scoring a double against Hull at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday.

The brace means that he now has 17 goals in the top flight this season, with this tally achieved in just 25 matches. Additionally, he has now moved ahead of Everton striker Romelu Lukaku to lead the race for the Golden Boot in England’s elite level.
On top of that figure, he also has a commendable nine assists to his name.

The Chile international attack bundled home the opening goal in the first half, with the strike causing controversy as referee Mark Clattenburg failed to spot the ball had struck his hand before ending in the net.
There was little such debate about his second, a late penalty, which he planted just beyond the reach of visiting goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic.
Alexis has justified the faith put in him by manager Arsene Wenger, who has often preferred him to lead the attack ahead of France international forward Olivier Giroud. Although doubts were initially cast over the wisdom of the move, the 28-year-old has surpassed the 16 goals he scored for the Emirates side in 2014-15, and the 13 he tallied last term.
The attacker, who is yet to agree new terms with his club, still remains two goals short of his all-time best league tally, the 19 goals he hit with Barcelona in the 2013-14 season during which he played 34 La Liga fixtures.
